Malachite
Malachite is a symbol of creativity and change. The
marvelous patterns of eyes, spirals, circles alternating with shaded bands
indicate that the stone is a symbol of change. Malachite gives us the
message of the green fire in the black void of the unfolding universe. Its
density and opaqueness represent the physical-the material. We must overcome
density if we are to endure on this planet. Through the process of creating
with material expression, we come to understand the nature of spirit.
Malachite's essence of alterability essence of alterability touches all
parts of our bodies and souls.
The malachite was the sacred stone of the ancient Egyptians, who used the
stone in several different ways. It was worn on the body for protection and
for safeguarding pregnancy. The stones were laid on the body, as I do today,
for healing and balancing and harmonizing the whole system. They were ground
in a paste and used as an eye remedy, as well as a cosmetic. Malachite heals
the physical body as well as the inner eye, the heart, the total being.
I would like to share a personal experience that happened a few years ago. A
friend and i walked up to a dried up river bed in the desert of Arizona. We
had taken many pieces of malachite with us on our walk. After giving thanks
to0 our stones, we laid them on our bodies-over the chakras and our faces.
We then traveled on a strange and magical journey. My body went through a
powerful healing, and my spirit flew over the desert, along with the eagle
and the hawk. I looked down and understood the earth. A rebirth, a
regeneration of the body, soul and spirit had taken place! Since that time I
have loved and trusted this most powerful stone. It has become my most
healing ally.
